A medium-fermented tea which yields an amber brew,and has a rolled appearance. A famous Northern Taiwan tea with lightly noted orchid-like hints and a sweet fragrant sometimes with nutty overtones, like smoked chestnuts.

Thé d’une grande finesse, le Ti Kuan Yin (originaire du Taiwan) est long en bouche. Ses arômes d’orchidée et de noisette sont tout simplement divins!

Ti Kuan Yin is considered part of the Oolong tea family as a semi-fermented tea. Ti Kuan Yin is known as a special variety of Camellia Sinesis (tea plant). Different from China, Ti Kuan Yin from Taiwan is a very close relative of Dark Oolong tea because it is baked longer to induce the long lasting sweet aftertaste.

Due to sometimes a dark appearance of the dry leaves and an ancient story, Ti Kuan Yin is named after the Iron Goddess of Mercy. Ten Tea offers Ti Kuan Yin in a variety of grades and canisters and produced from both Taiwan and China.

Ti Kuan Yin Tea Brewing Method:

* Tea ware : Clay Pots, Bone China Pots or Gai Wan
* Water Temperature : 95~100^oC hot water

1. Warm tea ware by rinsing them with hot water


2. Pour approximately 1/5 of Oolong tea leaves into pot


3. Pour water and steep tea leaves in water for 1~1.5 minutes for the first brew and increase steeping time for subsequent brewing


4. Same amount of tea can be prepared by pouring boiling water into it for 5~7 times
